Maureen McNeil –Development/Outreach Manager
Founder and Principal of McNeil Development Advisors, a fundraising and government relations consulting firm serving nonprofit arts and cultural organizations. Through her firm, she currently provides development and external affairs services to Amas Musical Theatre, Queens Museum, and Young People’s Chorus of New York City.
Maureen joined Amas Musical Theatre in April 2023 to help reinvigorate the organization’s fundraising efforts and expand its network of philanthropic and government support. She brings nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit development, government relations, and external affairs, with particular expertise in major gifts, institutional fundraising, and capital campaigns.
Most recently, Maureen helped secure more than $12.5 million in funding for Queens Museum’s ongoing renovation and expansion project. Earlier in her career, she worked on two of New York City's most significant cultural capital initiatives: Lincoln Center’s $1 billion redevelopment campaign and the renovation of Madison Square Garden.
In addition to her work in the nonprofit sector, Maureen served in the federal government and spent several years in Washington, D.C., advocating for women’s health and reproductive rights issues.
Maureen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Women’s Studies from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Born in New York and raised in New Jersey, she currently resides in New Jersey with her husband, Stephen, and their daughter, Cora.
