INTERNSHIPS:
We're looking for enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and dependable high school and college–level interns to join the Amas family of artists, producers, arts administrators, and teaching artists.
This is an outstanding opportunity to gain valuable experience and learn how a medium-size professional theatre company is run. These internships may include, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Arts Administration:

Aiding in the preparation of funding calendars, grant requests, correspondence with funders, execution of fundraising campaigns, mailings, mailing lists, etc.

Research for Development Department (grants).

Assistance in phone, messages, filing, letter writing, calendar updates, supplies, clerical support, errands, etc.

Accepting and logging and, periodically, reading and evaluating new musical submissions from composers, lyricists and librettists.

Assistance in planning upcoming fundraising events, including administering Silent Auctions, on-line Auctions, etc. Includes correspondence with potential donors, and cataloguing and describing accepted items and services.

Marketing responsibilities include assistance in preparation of email blasts, print pieces, and distribution of posters and flyers.

Additional marketing communications assistance includes timely management of social networking communications, and timely interface with Amas webmaster and other suppliers.
Technical/Production:
(These assignments are available according to the company’s production calendar)

Assistance during casting calls, rehearsal, and production.

Assistance to the various production departments (e.g., lighting, sound, scenery, props, etc.)

Facilitating communication among production staff.

Clerical support of production needs (e.g., copying, distribution of changes in scripts and music, etc.)

Box office, house management, concessions, etc.
Education Programming:

Assistance to the Director of the Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy.

Preparation and distribution of marketing materials.

Assistance during audition process.
-
Aiding in registration, student and parent correspondence, and Academy administration in general.

Support in preparation for classes, and during classes.
-
Assistance in Academy grantsmanship, etc.
-
Assistance to Amas Education Director in preparation of in-school programs (clerical, communications, marketing, coordination among partners and teaching artists, etc.)
Internship hours are flexible and can be from 4 to 32 hours per week or more.
Stipends are generally not available except for transportation in certain cases. We have, in the past, hired exceptional interns into entry level positions at Amas, upon completion of their internships and their college graduation requirements.
