STAGEline: Dare to Dance
A Movement Lab for Young Artists Ages 15–20

About the Program
STAGEline: Dare to Dance is a 4-week immersive program that blends movement, music, and storytelling through choreography from the upcoming Broadway musical Take the Lead. Led by Program Director Maria Torres and taught by industry professionals, students will develop their performance skills in a supportive, high-energy environment rooted in collaboration, identity, and building confidence.

Wednesdays, October 15, October 22, October 29 and November 5, 2025

4:00–7:00 PM at Amas Studios, 630 Ninth Avenue, Suite 1400
Final Showcase: Sunday, November 9, 2025 as part of the Amas Dare to Be Different Festival

Who Should Apply
This program is designed for young people ages 15–20 who are passionate about movement, theatre, and storytelling. Whether you are training professionally or exploring
performance for the first time, STAGEline offers professional guidance and showcase experience.

MARIA TORRES - PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Maria Torres is an award-winning choreographer, director, and educator whose work spans Broadway, television, film, and international stages. A Dance Magazine Honoree and Tony-nominated artist, she is known for fusing Latin dance forms with theatrical storytelling. Her interdisciplinary pedagogy was developed at Jacob’s Pillow and featured in collaboration with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.
