EVAN ALPARONE - Academy Instructor/Music Director – is a San Francisco Bay Area native, a music director, accompanist and teacher currently living in New York City. After graduating from UCLA's Ray Bolger Musical Theater program Evan studied choral conducting at San Francisco State University and from 2007-2010 directed the choral program at Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward, California. From a few music classes he grew the program to a touring and competing choir of over one hundred students. After three years of teaching Evan embarked on the adventure of being a freelance musician, working with all sorts of ensembles, companies, schools and choirs and eventually found his way to New York. After serving as music director at the Open Door United Methodist Church in Berkeley, California for seven years he continued this work at Valhalla United Methodist Church in Westchester County. As a music director, conductor, and accompanist Evan has worked on over 50 musicals and looks forward to the next 50. He enjoys working with students of all ages and looks forward to helping them find their passion and confidence in music.
