MICHAEL WEITZENHOFFER - Academy Instructor/Music Director – is a multi-instrumentalist, accompanist, and teaching artist living in Brooklyn. Originally from Ohio, Michael moved to New York City in 2017 after graduating from Kent State University with a B.A in Popular Contemporary Music. He has been working as a freelance musician since 2014, recording and performing with rock, pop, and jazz bands, performing solo as a cocktail pianist, and accompanying choirs, cabarets, and theater productions. Michael's most recent theater credits were on productions of "Into the Woods" and "The Drowsy Chaperone". Pre-Covid, he was also performing weekly with a family concert series, The Rock and Roll Playhouse. Along with his work as a performer, Michael has held multiple teaching positions, working with all ages.
